This case study presentation of Stanford Health Care shows how the organization, in collaboration with Taylor Design, collected, analyzed, and used big data to build a data model that guided the master planning for a new interventional platform. Historical data from the electronic medical record system was used to assess utilization of operating rooms and catherization labs and to project future demand. Additional analysis evaluated the need for prep and recovery bays versus traditional pre-operative and post-anesthesia care unit bays. These presenters will share their original plan, dips in the road, and how they were able to achieve results that included potentially huge cost savings.
