Sutter Health, one of California’s most comprehensive healthcare systems, committed to improving physical and programmatic access at its facilities in order to deliver high-quality care for all patient populations. Presenters will discuss how they utilized evidence-based design (EBD) to address the accessibility needs of patients in its facilities, eliminating barriers from the moment patients arrive, through their exam. To demonstrate the opportunities for improving care delivery to patients with disabilities, they’ll share expertise in scoping accessible medical equipment and demonstrate how a properly designed space and equipment empowers patients by improving both physical access and independence in the exam room.
