Session Description

Patients and staff are often caught between the tension associated with balancing a culture of healing and a culture of safety. This presentation will address safety challenges and discuss innovative design strategies for balancing a culture of safety, while advancing a person-centered healing environment. Presenters will discuss the “recovery model,” which is a holistic, person-centered approach and standard model of mental health care. They’ll then pull these ideas together by sharing applications of design thinking, reintroducing this approach to mental and behavioral health in the context of organizational culture for problem-solving that helps people and organizations become more innovative and creative.
