Designing a healthcare facility in a non-urban area has different challenges. These communities face population health issues not typically found in urban areas. In designing healthcare facilities, it is important to address these issues through design solutions, where possible. This presentation features two similar projects—one suburban and one rural—designed by two similar firms. Firm representatives will evaluate each other’s project for design effectiveness in addressing these issues. The owner of each facility will also complete a post-occupancy evaluation of their own facility. The presentation will then focus on the findings of each post-occupancy evaluation and the critical lessons learned.
