Session Description

Our current healthcare system is at a tipping point. Integrative medicine and complementary therapies might be the key to reducing the healthcare system strain. Using research on breast cancer patient care as a baseline, this presentation walks attendees through the real statistics highlighting the magnitude of the diagnosis and the toll it takes on patients, families and clinicians. Evidence is being collected to show how integrative medicine and complementary therapies enhance quality of life and aid in successful health outcomes. The Johns Hopkins Sibley Integrative Medicine Center will offer an example of how the “value of investment” exceeds the return on investment (ROI).
