Session Description

Staff burnout is an epidemic negatively impacting the health and well-being of our caregivers. Research shows staff satisfaction and engagement is one of the largest drivers of quality care delivery, patient experience, and more cost-effective business operations. Largely unsupportive healthcare work environments intensify the psychological and physical pressures of the job, exacerbating staff dissatisfaction and burnout, resulting in turnover and, ultimately, impacting patient satisfaction and HCAHPS scores, patient outcomes, and the bottom line. In this roundtable, learn five design strategies and amenities healthcare organizations can implement to improve staff satisfaction and reduce burn-out and discuss the merits of each, their design features, and implementation strategies.
