Dr. Cemal Sozener is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School and received his B.S, M.Eng and M.D. degrees all from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan, where he also served as chief resident. Formerly he co-directed the medical student clerkship in emergency medicine and is currently the co-medical director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center. Dr. Sozener has a background and interest in lean-based design and the intersection of healthcare engineering, operations, technology and patient safety. He is involved in a number of institutional projects in this regard.
