A healthcare architect, Joan Suchomel relishes the challenge of medical planning, from strategy through project completion. She operates in search and exploration mode for what the future of healthcare may bring. Joan is a frequent speaker at conferences, including Healthcare Design; the International Summit on Health Facility Planning, Design and Construction; and the Cleveland Clinic Patient Experience Summit. Her articles can be found in Healthcare Design Magazine, Health Facilities Management Magazine, and others. As 2016 President of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, she led the creation of a Strategic Plan, to optimize the Academy’s service to its members and its impact on the greater healthcare design community.
