Sarah Plane is a design researcher at Boulder Associates with interdisciplinary quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research experience in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction and Linguistics. For her graduate thesis, Sarah conducted 4 months of fieldwork in Yunnan, China, documenting an endangered, minority language, Sa'nie. During this experience, Sarah forged new community ties in Yongsheng County, Yunnan, China, while recording oral histories, as well as traditional songs, music and dance from previously undocumented languages. It was through this anthropological lens that Sarah studied the diverse ethnicities and languages of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital users to gather data informing multicultural wayfinding recommendations.
