Shary AdamsPrincipal, Senior Healthcare Planner

Shary Adams is an accomplished medical planner, architect and designer with a broad array of skills who specializes in behavioral health, patient care and emergency department design.

A graduate of the University of Toronto, she received a Bachelor’s of Architecture in 1987, and is a board-certified American College of Healthcare Architect as well as EDAC-accredited. Shary has over 30 years of experience in planning and designing major healthcare projects for leading clients including Johns Hopkins Hospital, MedStar Health, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Through numerous interviews with clinicians, administrators, and patients, as well as visioning workshops and tours of leading care facilities, her depth of knowledge allows for innovation in addressing complex issues from new care models to evidence-based design choices and patient safety.
