Conference Bookstore

BreakPoint Books will be operating the on-site bookstore at the HCD Conference. As a service to our speakers, we would like to give you the opportunity to recommend any books that you have authored, or books that you may refer to or recommend in your session.  If you would like to participate in this service please complete this form no later than Friday, October 19th and return it by email to dave@breakpointbooks.com

Presentation Submission

Please submit 1 presentation for your session in PDF format no later than Monday, October 22nd to HCD Conference Coordinator, Maya Wright at HCDpresentations@emeraldexpo.com.

Presentations will be posted within the HCD Conference App for attendees to view while we are onsite at the conference. If you do not want your presentation posted to the conference app please let us know when you submit your presentation.

 

On-Site Session Room and Audio-Visual Equipment

Audio Visual: Each session room will be wired for sound and equipped with a screen, LCD projector, head table with chairs and podium microphone along with a wireless lavaliere. You or someone from your session is responsible for providing your own laptop with your presentation fully loaded and prepared. We will provide cables to attach the laptop to the LCD projector however if you are using a MAC please bring your own dongle.

If you have any additional AV requests (flipcharts, etc.) please submit them no later than October 5th to amanda.ryan@emeraldexpo.com and we will do our best within reason to fulfill your request. Please note that all requests may not be able to be fulfilled and the sooner you let us know the more likely we will be able to accommodate.


Room Set-Up: Each room will be set up theater style. Along with a stage, podium and head table.

 

Session Room Support: There will be a temporary staff member located in your session room. They are responsible for scanning attendee badges upon entrance, reading any important announcements before your session starts, will give you a 5 minute warning notice prior to your session ending. They will also be there as a liaison between you and the AV company in case you need any assistance.

 

Speaker Registration

Please DO NOT register yourself on the main HCD website.

By now you should have received your speaker registration email. If you haven’t please check your spam folder and if it’s not there let me know and we will resend. We ask that you complete the process as soon as possible.

 

As outlined in the call for presentations up to 2 speakers per session will receive complimentary full conference pass. The lead/first speaker and second speaker listed in the original proposal submission will receive the complimentary conferences passes.  Additional speakers beyond the first two will receive discounted full conference registrations at the rate of $750. If you have any questions regarding the order/allocation of your session, please contact the lead speaker in your session. We cannot change the order of speakers at this time.

Please note - Speaker Fees cannot be amortized. Complimentary codes cannot be transferred and shared. Additional discounts cannot be applied to speaker passes. 

 

Hotel Reservations

Please be sure to book your hotel reservation as soon as possible. A hotel reservation will not be made for you as it is the responsibility of the speaker. Promoting Your Sessions

HCD has free pre-show marketing tools for you to use through a platform called Feathr. The tools available to you are a custom landing page and a custom email template. You can access these tools via your dashboard. Speakers were emailed their dashboard on July 31. If you need your link sent again, request it here. Here’s some more info about each of these tools:

Landing Page: This is a web page that has been customized with your company name and session titles. You can upload your logo or photo and also enter a description of you, your company, or your sessions. When posting on social media, link to this page to give your customers a place to go for more information. View example 

Email Template: Use this email template to use to invite your customers/prospects to join you at HCD. You can either upload a list via the “import list” button and send emails through Feathr, or you can export the email and send through your own platform. View example

Social Media Images: Also available to speakers are images sized for Facebook and Twitter that say "I'm speaking at HCD 2018. Will you join me?" Post these to social media and link them to your landing page. View example
