Too often, health systems default to new construction when the most cost effective capacity can be found in existing facilities. When Sharp HealthCare began evaluating potential integration of Tri City Medical Center into its network, the organization's opportunity assessment included a comprehensive review of facilities in the context of strategic highest and best use. The findings revealed opportunities to leverage capacity to support the community now and in the future. This session will demonstrate how Sharp, Tri City, and Jensen Partners re envisioned the campus through a systemwide asset management lens, assessing each building for physical condition, strategic relevance, clinical alignment, and long term value. By implementing systemwide best practices and reorganizing space based on clinical performance, the team strengthened service distribution and revitalized the campus. The resulting approach offers a model for optimizing assets, increasing system capacity, and fortifying the future of a critical community healthcare provider.
