In this role, Joel leads the portfolio of growth and development initiatives across the region, as well as serving as a key liaison with the development and local implementation of the system strategy. Joel originally joined the organization with Spectrum Health in 2017, and assumed his current responsibilities in 2024. Prior to joining the organization, he worked in Strategy, Business Development, and Performance Improvement leadership roles in the Pacific Northwest.

Speakers will present national and regional perspectives on strategy, facility planning, and design considerations, including leaders from Corewell Health and Yale New Haven Health (YNHH) on structured approaches to ambulatory network planning integrating market demand, clinical strategy, site-of-care migration, and real estate planning, highlighting opportunities for systems that have grown through M&A.
